About Mel

image0_edited.jpg

Mel is a Quilter, Longarm Operator & Pantograph Designer based in Whitby, Ontario, with a lifelong love of sewing and creativity.

She first picked up a needle and thread at just 6 years old, and spent her high school and college years surrounded by fabric, patterns, and inspiration while working in sewing and fabric stores.

In 2023, Mel finally took the leap into the world of Pantograph Design after purchasing her first longarm — and she hasn’t looked back since. She has been diligently working on perfecting her longarm skills since then on quilts for friends & family.

By day, her creativity takes a slightly different form: Mel does contract work in Set Design for Film & Television. So if you’re binge-watching your favourite Toronto or Northern Ontario–filmed series, don’t be surprised if her name sneaks by in the credits!

When she’s not designing quilts, pantographs or television sets, you’ll likely find her at the local curling club, proudly participating in Canada’s “other” favourite sport.
